Remote sensing is the branch of engineering which involves the collection of various types of physical data over an area from a remote location. The industry that has built up around this engineering application often requires sophisticated instruments and ÒsurveyÓ systems. These systems are used to acquire information needed for successful analysis of a given piece of terrain.
Examples of data collected include measurements to detect buried objects, land topography, soil density, ground electrical conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, etc.
AIRBORNE REMOTE SENSING / SURVEY SYSTEMS
Airborne
systems are installed in and sometimes under aircraft to permit rapid system
deployment and data collection. Any permanent installation of equipment in a
certified aircraft requires certification as well. This is to ensure safety of
the aircrew and the general public. CRL has many years of experience in the
design and certification processes in Canada, U.S.A. and Australia. Let us
assist with your airborne system needs.
Remote sensing systems
are also very popular for a variety of scientific, industrial, environmental,
and military applications. Some examples of these are detection of buried
objects (military, archeological, environmental), and detection of utilities
such as electrical cables, water mains, etc. CRL can design and develop
complete systems around your ground mapping and buried object locating needs.
